400 Placements and Climbing: What a Record Summer Means for Australian Hospitals

A milestone summer

Two months ago, Aulive crossed a milestone we'd been building toward for years: more than 400 UK-trained midwives, nurses and doctors now placed and working in hospitals across Australia. It's up from just over 300 earlier this year, growth that reflects not just demand from clinicians wanting to relocate, but a steadily expanding list of hospitals choosing Aulive as their international recruitment partner.

It's a milestone we're marking properly too, the first run of Aulive Community caps has just landed, a small but proud signal of how much this team and network has grown.

A growing footprint across the states

This summer brought that growth into sharper focus. One of our newest partnerships moved from agreement to a fully executed contract, and we're deep in active conversations and contract negotiations with hospital groups across multiple states, including established relationships we're now formalising into structured, long-term partnerships.

Regional health services have been a particular focus, with hospitals outside the major metro centres recognising that international recruitment can solve workforce gaps that local pipelines simply can't fill fast enough.

What's driving hospitals back to the table isn't just volume. It's consistency. Every clinician we place arrives through the same rigorous process, AHPRA registration support, visa handling, and pastoral care that continues well after their first day on the ward. That end-to-end structure is what turns a single placement into a hospital coming back for its second, third and tenth hire.

Why executives are paying attention

For a Director of Nursing and Midwifery or workforce lead, the maths is straightforward: international recruitment done properly reduces vacancy time, brings experienced clinicians who've already worked in high-acuity NHS settings, and removes the administrative burden of registration and relocation from their team's plate. It's why the hospitals we've worked with longest keep expanding their agreements with us rather than shopping around.

We're proud that 400+ placements isn't an abstract number, it's hundreds of individual midwives and nurses now settled into wards and maternity units right across the country, many of whom are already recommending Aulive to colleagues back home considering the same move. That word-of-mouth pipeline is part of why our candidate quality keeps rising alongside our volume.

What's next

This momentum isn't slowing down. Olivia will be back in Australia before the end of the year, meeting hospital leadership teams in person to discuss workforce strategy and new partnership opportunities heading into 2027. If your hospital is grappling with persistent vacancies in nursing or midwifery, now is the right time to have that conversation.
